The KSB Group, one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality pumps and valves, uses the standard product "Fabasoft Approve" to manage its process-driven supplier documentation, resulting in a savings of roughly 4,500 working hours per year. This success story began with a collaboration with STAUFEN.DIGITAL NEONEX, a consulting firm focused on digital transformation in industry.
End-to-end transformation as part of the “Digital Factory” project"
The aim of the “Digital Factory @ KSB” project, which was developed together with NEONEX, was to realign the entire value creation process in order to serve customers faster. KSB and NEONEX kicked off the project by identifying and analyzing a variety of use cases and ranking them based on their estimated value contribution for KSB. Managing supplier documentation digitally turned out to be one of the most decisive use cases. As a result, the company began looking for a centralized and transparent solution for managing technical documents across all locations − one that could be implemented rapidly and customized flexibly to meet KSB’s needs.

Consulting agencies spur speedy implementation
During the process of converting to digital supplier documentation, KSB benefited significantly from Fabasoft’s agile project management. Particularly when it comes to large-scale projects such as this one, external consultants like STAUFEN.DIGITAL NEONEX can be tremendously helpful in identifying the right provider. Their unbiased perspective, coupled with specialized expertise, adds value right from the start – from use case definition to process consulting and successful implementation, right through to the global roll-out. Project participants in the KSB project worked in 14-day sprints together with Jana Kopp, the supporting project consultant from NEONEX, to define the tasks. As the scrum master, Ms. Kopp was responsible to ensure that the customer-specific technical requirements were clearly and comprehensibly laid out for Fabasoft as the software provider. Ms. Kopp also made sure that KSB’s IT department staff was up to speed with the technical aspects of Fabasoft Approve. Both of these factors were instrumental in ensuring that the project was implemented rapidly and successfully.
“Successful digitalization calls for dependable partners with professional products,” explains Jana Kopp, consultant at STAUFEN.DIGITAL NEONEX. “Fabasoft Approve satisfies the highest expectations for convenience, intuitive operation, and state-of-the-art architecture. In conjunction with agile project implementation, finding the ideal solution provider for our client KSB was pivotal for realizing the redefined ‘Digital Supplier Documentation’ target process.”
“One of the key factors for the success of this project was certainly the fantastic support provided by NEONEX. Ms. Kopp had a unique understanding of how to simplify complex processes and find the best way to accurately reflect KSB’s expectations for Fabasoft Approve. Achieving this so effectively would hardly have been possible without that kind of professional cooperation,” confirms Andreas Dangl, Business Unit Executive at Fabasoft.
