Fabasoft Online-Training

Fabasoft online training classes offer a valuable alternative to in-person sessions, saving you time and money by eliminating travel expenses while providing flexible training units with extended periods for independent practice in our training environment.

We use Microsoft Teams for communication in our online training sessions. 

Our trainers actively engage participants, encouraging them to take part. For some tasks, participants will need to independently explore solutions and apply them in the training environment.

To ensure you can actively participate and gain hands-on experience with the topics covered, we provide a demo environment for each training, accessible via browser from your workplace. Depending on the training type, you may also need the client software for the relevant Fabasoft product (Fabasphere Client or eGov-Client) and possibly Microsoft Office installed on your workstation for optimal performance.

To confirm your workplace meets the requirements for participating in a Fabasoft online training class, ensuring smooth communication and access to the necessary Fabasoft systems, please verify the following points before registering for an online training class. 

These requirements apply to the workstation from which you plan to join the session. Participation is only recommended if your workplace meets all the specified conditions.

Prerequisites

Microsoft Teams (required for all online trainings)

Web Browser (required for all online trainings)

Hardware Requirements (required for all online trainings)

  • All participants must use a headset for communication via Microsoft Teams.
  • The training should be conducted in a quiet environment to ensure clear two-way communication.
  • Sufficient screen space is essential to comfortably display both the Microsoft Teams meeting and the training environment side by side. Typically, this requires at least two monitors.

Fabasphere Client

  • For many Fabasoft trainings, you will need to work on your local workstation while connecting to our training systems via browser. 

  • To ensure unrestricted access, the latest version of the Fabasphere Client must be installed on your workstation. However, even without the Fabasphere Client, you should still be able to participate in all exercises and test functions that do not require it. 

  • Whether a training requires the Fabasphere Client is indicated under "Prerequisites" on the training’s detail page.

Folio Client

  • For our Fabasoft Folio trainings, you will need to work on your local workstation while connecting to our training systems via browser. 

  • To ensure unrestricted access, the latest version of the Folio Client must be installed on your workstation. However, even without the Folio Client, you should still be able to participate in all exercises and test functions that do not require it. 

  • Whether a training requires the Folio Client is indicated under "Prerequisites" on the training’s detail page.

Microsoft Office

  • Many Fabasoft trainings involve using Microsoft Office in conjunction with the training environment (e.g. the Fabasphere). 

  • To actively participate on your own system, Microsoft Office must be installed and licensed on your workstation. Without a fully functional and up-to-date Microsoft Office version, you can still join the training but may not be able to participate in certain exercises. While Microsoft Office integration generally works well during trainings, we cannot guarantee that all use cases will function as expected. However, you should still be able to engage in all exercises that do not require it.

Development Environment for Fabasoft app.ducx

  • We strongly recommend setting up your own development environment before attending our Fabasoft app.ducx training. This allows you to participate actively in live sessions. Much of the training involves group exercises where you can apply what you’ve learned, reinforcing the material and building skills. While passive attendance is possible, your learning outcomes will be significantly reduced. Please only register once your development environment is ready. At the start or during the training class, we can no longer provide support for setting up your development enrivonment.
  • To set up Fabasoft app.ducx, follow the instructions in the Fabasoft Developer Help. During the training, Fabasoft provides a Fabasphere training system for uploading and testing your work. Your environment is likely ready if you can:
  • After setting up your environment and registering, we’ll contact you to schedule a Microsoft Teams meeting in which we’ll make sure together that you have everything needed for a successful training experience.
  • If you encounter issues setting up your demo system, email academy@fabasoft.com. We’re happy to arrange a Teams call to assist you.

Development Environment for Fabasoft app.test

  • We strongly recommend setting up your own development environment before attending our Fabasoft app.test training. This allows you to participate actively in live sessions. Much of the training involves group exercises where you can apply what you’ve learned, reinforcing the material and building skills. While passive attendance is possible, your learning outcomes will be significantly reduced. Please only register once your development environment is ready.
  • To set up Fabasoft app.test, follow the instructions in the Fabasoft Developer Help. During the training, Fabasoft provides a Fabasphere training system for recording and testing your work. Your environment is ready if:
    • Your Google Chrome browser (launched by Fabasoft app.test) can access https://vm39.vde.fabasoft.com/folio/  (no need to log in)
    • You can record commands via the Control Tree in Fabasoft app.test
