Fabasoft Receives Attestation Pursuant to the Cloud Requirements of the BSI

Released on 29. March 2017

Certified Transparency Creates Security

Fabasoft is the first European provider of cloud services to have received the attestation pursuant to the requirements of the catalogue of requirements C5 (Cloud Computing Compliance Controls Catalogue, in short: C5), issued by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). The KPMG Alpen-Treuhand GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungs- und Steuerberatungsgesellschaft issued the attestation.

"The heterogeneity of cloud service providers is constantly growing. It is therefore all the more important for customers to be able to classify the security promises offered by Fabasoft. C5 provides the defined regulatory IT security level comparable to the IT baseline protection enhanced by cloud controls", explains Klaus Schatz, Managing Director of KPMG Austria.

The C5 attestation from KPMG pursuant to the requirements of the BSI is a recognized and reliable proof which transparently reveals the high level of information security of the Fabasoft Cloud for all Fabasoft Cloud customers.

BSI President Arne Schönbohm further explains: "Cloud computing is a key component of digitization. With C5, the BSI has issued an IT security standard that sets new market standards as the benchmark of cyber security in cloud computing. We are delighted that the Fabasoft Cloud is the first genuinely European cloud service to receive a C5 attestation."

The catalogue of requirements of the BSI specifies the minimum requirements that cloud service providers must meet. The defined surrounding parameters are an integral characteristic of the BSI C5 and ensure transparency with regard to system description, jurisdiction and locations of data storage, data processing and data backup, disclosure and investigation powers, as well as certifications.
