Review of Rethink! Corporate Finance 2018

Rethink! Corporate Finance 2018

Rethink! Corporate Finance 2018 is the most important strategy event of the DACH region and a meeting place for CFOs and finance decision makers from medium-sized and large businesses of all relevant industries. It provides a unique mix of case studies and discussions on technologies and trends on topics ranging from digitisation and standardisation to automation in Corporate Finance and Business Development. Fabasoft was again a partner at this year’s event and was in Hamburg with a team of three people.

On the evening before the conference started, Andreas Dangl, Christoph Stangl and Andreas Hofmann were using the opportunity of the Icebreaker Roundtables to meet the other participants and also took part in the moderated Round Tables.

The first day of the conference was characterised by interesting keynotes such as “Driving the Transformation of Corporate Finance - The CFO of the Future”, captivating discussions such as “Artificial Intelligence - Which Tasks Can Self-learning Systems Handle with Efficiency and Automation in the Finance Departments of Businesses?” as well as interactive “Challenge Your Peers” sessions. During the day, the Fabasoft team was available for the questions of the large number of interested visitors at our stand. The discussions on IT and finance, data protection and security continued at the networking dinner that took place in the evening.

The second day started with interesting case studies and presentations. But the highlights of the day were as always the Rethink! World Cafés where the participants discussed various hot topics, answered questions and together found new insights.

Business Process Management & Digitisation Café

At the Fabasoft World Café “Successfully Digitising and Automating Processes in Finance while Complying with EU-GDPR” moderated by Christoph Stangl, the participants discussed the following questions:

  • Which internal and cross-organisational processes have you already digitised or automated at your company?
  • Which of them are affected by the new requirements of GDPR, and which basic principles of EU-GDPR are particularly challenging?
  • Which tools are you using to process and store data in a GDPR-compliant manner and manage access on them?
  • How can you traceably ensure that data on customers, suppliers, staff and applicants is processed in compliance with EU-GDPR in all areas?

At the Harvesting session, Christoph Stangl presented the results to the full forum. We would like to thank all participants of the Fabasoft World Cafés for their great and active participation!
