On February 1, 2018, more than 100 customers met at the “Park Hyatt Vienna” for the third and last stop of the Fabasoft egovdays.
In the first presentation, Dr. Christian Folini, historian, security adviser and author, kept the audience rapt when he pointed out several interesting parallels between the defence structures of medieval castles and cyber defence. It only takes a single weakness within the entire system for a cyber attack to succeed. Dr. Folini continued his presentation with valuable tips on how organisations can protect themselves against cyber attacks and discussed this current topic with the audience.
Stefan Arnold’s overview of product enhancements and new features of the Fabasoft eGov-Suite was next on the agenda. Side by side with straight-forward usability, being able to work regardless of time and place is essential today. A live demonstration showed how easy this is - even on mobile devices. Since the functions of the Fabasoft eGov-Suite are integrated with the respective Office applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook) via the Ribbon, it is no longer necessary to switch from one application to another.
After a short break, Fabasoft’s Andreas Dangl presented valuable tips on using the EU-GDPR Toolbox of the Fabasoft Cloud to manage contact details including communication or procedures directories with full traceability. The EU-GDPR toolbox is offering a variety of functions to support organisations in complying with the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
In his closing keynote “The digital transformation and its enemies”, Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Helmut Fallmann, Fabasoft, critically explored the challenges which politics, economy, administration and businesses have to meet within the context of digital transformation. Digitisation is already having tremendous impact on all areas of our lives. The challenge now lies in preparing society for the new circumstances.
