The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) is the recognized competence center for researching and developing initial and continuing vocational education and training in Germany. It identifies future tasks for vocational education and training, promotes innovations in national and international vocational education and training, and develops new, practice-oriented solutions for initial and continuing vocational education and training. As a federal institution with legal capacity under public law, it is financed from federal budget funds and is under the legal supervision of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). It has been based in Bonn since 1999 and currently has 758 employees.
