Agenda:

Conference agenda "Cyber security and Cloud computing: How Europe can achieve the ultimate competitive advantage in the digital world market"

The strategy of the Digital Single Market (DSM) aims at opening up digital opportunities for people and businesses and strengthening Europe’s position as one of the global market leaders in digital economy. To this end, the European Commission is supporting European initiatives in the areas of research, technology and innovation in order to enable future technologies, software, services and networks.

In its efforts to ensure undisturbed data flows and the highest levels of cyber security in Europe, the Free Flow of Data initiative proclaimed by EU Commissioner Andrus Ansip currently prepares the basis for the EU Cybersecurity Act. Following an Open Call, working groups with representatives from the Cloud industry have been set up, for example the Working Group on Cloud Security Certification (CSPCert) or SWIPO. Their efforts will play a major role in providing a framework that will enable the free flow of information within the European Union as well as the use of Cloud technologies at European businesses.

The ambitious pace as well as the positive results give grounds for optimism: The important European reforms on data protection (EU-GDPR, NIS) together with the current Free Flow of Data initiative can make Europe a role model in the global market. In other words: On the basis of this unique selling point, we have the opportunity of becoming a major player in the digital revolution. Andrus Ansip is determined that the suggestions of the different Cloud working groups be checked and implemented in the course of the current legislative period.

On December 6, 2018, the two working groups CSPCert and SWIPO therefore invite you to the conference “Cyber Security and Cloud Computing: How Europe can achieve the ultimate competitive advantage in the digital world market“. The event will offer first hand insights into “The EU Cyber Security Package and GDPR Code of Conduct for Cloud Procurement in Europe” and also exclusively present the results of the two Cloud working groups.
