There is a clear will in Germany toward highly efficient e-Government. Feedback from exhibitors at the tenth congress fair Moderner Staat in Berlin was positive – as you would expect. All in all some 3,200 visitors came to the trade fair in Berlin, held on 28 and 29 November. Visitors to the Fabasoft Germany stand were particularly interested in the software products and projects that have already been realized.
The European software company used its stand to present Version 7 of Fabasoft eGov-Suite which will be available as of spring 2007. The software is available both under Microsoft Windows and Linux, and is additionally scalable from 100 to 100,000 users.
In the course of the Best Practice Forums, Marina Gonzalez, Head of IT and Organisation at the German Federal Railways, spoke on the introduction of electronic workflow management at the federal railways office in the DOWEBA project.
Simone Herrmann of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) gave keen listeners an insight into the successful implementation of the project "eAkte" (eFile) at the BMWi.
"We are very pleased with the way this year's fair went. The interest of the visitors – particularly in the Best Practice Forums – shows that e-Government and its realization have a high standing", say Walter M. Schill and Karl Mayrhofer, Managing Directors of Fabasoft Germany. "Based on today's facts it is highly likely that we will be at Berlin again next year as an exhibitor."
